hi i'm laura from and i'm going to talk about writing performance review goals this is a really important skill because um the how well written your performance review goals are will determine how well you do in your performance review so you want to really come up with review goals that are going to be achievable and concrete enough that you'll be able to have demonstrated mastery of them one first step could be to review your previous goals if you've already written goals for a previous performance review you might want to go back over them and pull out any that you haven't achieved yet and you'll be able to reuse those goals also identify any new things that you're doing your job and set some goals to to go with those so that'll be a way to come up with some new performance goals you also want to go back to your job description and see if there's things in your job description that you haven't done yet and make those things um make something specific about performance for those goal uh a set of goal that's specific to those new skills um and that's those will be things that you'll be able to demonstrate mastery of um then have some ideas about improvement of tasks that you're already engaged in so you might set a goal of um getting eight eight um articles written instead of seven um just a one step up and that would be something that's like an easy increment that you'll be able to master but is not not redundant not something you've already done so it's a goal for you to set that's a little bit higher than what you're already doing try to just choose three three is a pretty good number um of goals it's probably tempting to add a whole bunch but three um three is manageable and it will be respectable you know something that looks sufficient and not not like you're trying to be an underachiever so those are some ideas about how to write performance review goals
